Which Madeira Trails Are Hardest to Get Permits For Right Now?
Right now the trails under the most booking pressure are the ones to reserve first. Booking pressure measures current scarcity, not annual popularity, so it shifts with the season and the weather.
The ranking below is based on how much of each trail's near-term tourist availability has already been taken, weighted toward the nearest dates and recent booking speed. A trail with a small daily quota can show high pressure with fewer total bookings than a busier trail.
Use this to sequence your bookings: reserve the high-pressure trails first while your dates are flexible, then fill in the lower-pressure trails, which usually keep availability later in the week.
This is a live snapshot, not a yearly sell-out ranking. Once we have accumulated enough daily history, a separate report will show which trails sell out fastest over time.
