Praia Formosa is the largest public beach on Madeira, stretching about 2 km along the coast, 10 minutes by car from central Funchal. It is made up of four pebble and dark-sand beaches linked by the promenade between Funchal and Câmara de Lobos, and it holds a Blue Flag for water quality.
